How I Work

My path toward working as a therapist started when I first engaged in my own therapy. The connection I developed with my first therapist allowed me to experience the healing power of a relationship with a safe, caring individual. I’ve been hooked ever since. (Clearly!) I know what it’s like to be a patient, and work hard to use this knowledge to support my own patients’ experiences in counseling.

As a therapist, I draw from a deep well of empathy, warmth, and a strong ability to respond intuitively to patients in the moment. The need to feel safe and understood is crucial to counseling, and I prioritize developing a strong therapeutic relationship with my patients. We will collaborate on your goals to support your own healing and growth.

I will be brave as your therapist. Empathy and supportive listening are fundamental to good therapy, and I also prioritize being direct about behaviors or limiting beliefs about yourself that get in the way of healing. Change starts with empathy - and it’s fueled by honesty and acceptance of reality. Balancing the two is my highest priority as your therapist.
