FAQs

What will my therapy sessions be like?

I believe that clients are the experts on their life; I work to create therapy sessions where you are free to talk about anything you want. Sometimes we are focused on present-day challenges, and other times we are working to make sense of past experiences. You can trust that there will be laughter, empathy, directness, and curiosity.

Do you take insurance?

I accept Providence Health Plan and PacificSource Commercial plans. I do not contract with any other insurance companies, which makes me an “out-of-network” provider. Many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits, which you may be able to use to help cover therapy. If this is something you are interested in, please let me know during our consultation and I can provide you with further information.

How long will I be in therapy for?

The answer to this is always dependent on you and your goals. Some clients want to engage in long-term therapeutic work, and other people come with a more short-term problem they wish to address. I welcome both approaches and work to support my clients in their progress.

Do you provide in-person therapy?

My practice is fully conducted via telehealth. The flexibility that telehealth provides is unmatched, while still being highly effective. Additionally, telehealth allows me to provide services across the state of Oregon. I’m happy to discuss any questions or concerns you might have about telehealth during the consultation.

Your rates are higher than other providers in the area - how come?

This is actually a favorite question of mine. I take my work seriously and believe that you should have a therapist who is fully present and engaged in the work you do. My rate allows me to meet my business and personal financial needs without having to see 20+ clients a week. That means I am not burned out and that you get the time, energy, and attention in therapy that you deserve.
